GoTV Networks Ties Into Emmy Awards
Sherman Oaks-based GoTV Networks said Thursday that it will provide mobile news coverage for the 2006 Primetime Emmy Awards. The firm said that its coverage will be created exclusively for mobile viewers, and will be available throughout the week via its mobile phone services. GoTV provides media developed for cell phones and available via monthly subscription, and is venture-backed with funding from Bessemer Venture Partners and Charles River Ventures.

WebChoir Releases Metadata Tool
Los Angeles-based WebChoir, a firm that develops search and retrieval software, said this week that it has released a new vocabulary and metadata tool used for creating controlled vocabularies for database searches. WebChoir said that its new multilingual WebChoir Vocabulary Server tools can be used to organize relationships between search terms. VitalStream Moves To NASDAQ Global Market
Irvine-based VitalStream Holdings, a provider of audio and video streaming services and content delivery, said Thursday that the company has been approved to move to the NASDAQ Global Market. VitalStream will move to the NASDAQ on August 30th. The firm was formerly listed on NASDAQ's Capital Market, the small cap marketplace. VitalStream is listed as VSTH. VitalStream provides streaming media hosting, content delivery, and media hosting services.

Irvin Aerospace Links Into Rocketplane Kistler On NASA Contract
Santa Ana-based Irvine Aerospace is reporting today that it is teaming up with Rocketplane Kistler, one of the recipients of NASA's recent $500M project to commercialize spaceflight deliveries to the ISS. Irvin Aerospace said it will provide joint development in the area of landing airbag systems. Irvin Aerospace develops parachutes for space and air vehicle recovery.
