VentiRx Raises $28.9M
San Diego-based VentiRx Pharmaceuticals announced today that it has raised $28.9M in funding for the firm's treatments for cancer and infection, respiratory, and autoimmune diseases. The funding came from Frazier Healthcare Ventures, ARCH Venture Partners and Domain Associates. $26.6M of the investment came in the firm's Series A, the other $2.3M was part of a seed funding.

Activision Acquires DemonWare
Santa Monica-based Activision said today that the company is in an agreement to buy DemonWare, a Dublin, Ireland-based provider of middleware software for console and PC games. Financial terms were not disclosed. DemonWare develops community services software used for multiplayer gaming between consoles. The acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter of Activision's fiscal 2008 year.

Mojungle Acquired By Peak Performance
Los Angeles-based Mojungle, a developer of a mobile media sharing application and virtual photo and video sharing online community, has been acquired. Ohio-based Peak Performance Solutions said it has purchased the firm and will merge the Mojungle technology into its products. Financial terms were not disclosed. Peak Performance is a provider of insurance and risk management business applications.

Xirrus Gets Win With Conference Firm
Westlake Village-based Xirrus announced today that its products have been selected by Advanced Concepts, a provider of audio visual services for conferences. Advanced Concepts has been deploying Xirrus Wi-Fi arrays for conferences and events. Xirrus is a manufacturer of a high performance wireless array.

Ixia Targets IPTV
Calabasas-based Ixia said today that it now supports generation and analysis of IPTV video traffic. The capability, which is built on the firm's Aptixia ixNetwork and Optixia products, is targeted at testing of video traffic and packet-based network traffic on IP networks. The IPTV capability is targeted at service providers.

Snap.com Teams With Xanga
Pasadena-based Perfect Market Technologies announced Monday that it has partnered with social networking web site Xanga, to provide its Snap web site previews to the site. Xanga users will have the ability to see linked web site previews from their web pages. Perfect Market operates Snap.com, an online web search engine. The firm's Snap Preview Anywhere service is a service that allows any web site user to add previews of linked web pages.

Momentum Ventures Adds MacFarlane As Managing Director
Los Angeles-based venture capital and venture acceleration firm Momentum Venture Management has tapped Stuart MacFarlane, former CEO of Insider Pages, as a Managing Director. MacFarlane will head the firm's efforts in the consumer Internet space. MacFarlane was founding CEO of InsiderPages, which was sold to Citysearch last week, and was also previously VP of New Ventures at Idealab.
