D-Link Certifies Wi-Fi Products
Fountain Valley-based D-Link announced Friday that it has certified its D-Link Xtreme N Router and Notebook Adapters as Wi-Fi certified, through the Wi-Fi Alliance. Both products have been certified to the 802.11n draft 2.0 standard, the latest certification for the emerging Wi-Fi standard. D-Link said that it is the first firm to receive Wi-Fi certification status from the Wi-Fi Alliance group. D-Link is a manufacturer of networking, electronics, voice, and other accessories for the PC market.

Language Weaver Signs German Reseller
Los Angeles-based Language Weaver, a venture backed provider of automated language translation software, has signed on a new reseller in Germany. Language Weaver said Friday morning that it has signed a reseller and technology integration agreement with Karlsruhe, Germany-based pi-consult. pi-consult will resell Language Weaver's machine translation software into the German market. eMachines Rolls Out New Desktop PCs, Displays
Irvine-based Gateway has rolled out a new line of desktop PCs and displays in its eMachines brand, saying Friday morning that it will offer new, value-priced PCs based on AMD Athlon and Sempron procesors. The new PCs start at $319.99 after a $50 mail in rebate; the new displays start at $99.99. The PC makers three new PCs run Windows Vista Home Premium or Home Basic, include DVD+/-R/RW drives, and Microsoft Works. eMachines is the value-brand of Gateway, which it distributes through retailers.

Ortiva Wireless Deploys With GoTV
La Jolla-based Ortiva Wireless said earlier this week that it is in a commercial deployment of its wireless platform with Sherman Oaks-based GoTV Networks. Ortiva said that it has completed a successful trial of its products with GoTV, and that GoTV will use its product to improve the viewing and listening experience for its on-demand, mobile television programming. mobileStorm Inks Deal With MGM Grand
Los Angeles-based email marketing provider mobileStorm said this week that its services have been selected by the MGM Grand Las Vegas. The firm will help promote events at the hotel's Studio 54 and Tabu nightclubs, through its text messaging system. According to mobileStorm, the deal includes the ability to make reservations via SMS, and ability to get more event details. mobileStorm provides email and other digital marketing and messaging services.
