K2 Network Adds Metacafe CEO To Board
Irvine-based K2 Network, a company which develops massively multiplayer, online role playing games, said this week that it has added Erick Hachenburg to its board of directors. Hachenburg is CEO of online video sharing site Metacafe. Hachenberg has also previously served as an executive at Electronic Arts, and founded casual games firm Pogo.com. K2 is venture backed by BV Capital, Greycroft Partners, Intel Capital, Khosla Ventures, mvp Capital, and Novel TMT Ventures.

North American Scientific Gets $15.5M In PIPE
Chatsworth-based North American Scientific, a developer of oncology treatment products, said Thursday that the firm has raised $15.5M in a PIPE from venture funds Three Arch, SF Capital Partners, and CHL Medical Partners. The funding came through a private placement of common stock and warrants. According to North American Scientific, the investment will give Three Arch approximately 49.4% ownership of the firm. I-Flow Buys AcryMed
Lake Forest-based I-Flow, a developer of catheters and other drug delivery systems, said Thursday that it has agreed to acquire AcryMed, an Oregon-based developer of infection control and wound healing products. I-Flow said it would pay $25M in cash for the firm. AcryMed is a provider of products used with I-Flow's catheters. I-Flow said that AcryMed's Founder, CTO, and Chairman, Bruce Gibbins, along with its CEO and President, Jack McMaken, would join the firm as part of the acquisition.
