TotSpot, Cogi Get Spotlight
The Los Angeles technology crowd turned out in full for last week's Twiistup 5 event--a showcase for startups looking for exposure and funding--with over 1,000 attendees at a private aircraft hangar at the Santa Monica airport. Ortiva Enhances Mobile Video Product
San Diego-based Ortiva Wireless, a developer of products for managing mobile video, said Monday that it has enhanced the firm's Video Optimization Gateway product to support H.264 QVGA. According to the firm, the new support will help increase the quality and delivery of mobile video to handsets such as the Nokia N95 and Samsung QBOL. FreeConference Enhances Desktop Sharing Application
Glendale-based FreeConference, which provides free audio conference calling services, reported last week that it has made a new version of its desktop sharing application, SharePlus, available. The firm said that the upgraded software--which it sells for $9.00 a month or $6.50 per conference--now includes new features such as multiple file support, status alerts, and a new user interface.
