Kotura Signs European Distributor
Monterey Park-based Kotura, a developer of silicon photonics components, said this week that it has added a distrbutor covering Europe. The firm said it has signed AMS Technologies, a firm specializing in optoelectronics, thermal management and power electronics, as part of a pan-European distribution agreement. AMS will distribute Kotura's entire line of products, which are used for 40 and 100 Gb/s Ethernet communications. Demand Media Sweetens Executive Pot
Ahead of its IPO, Santa Monica-based Demand Media, the online domain name and media publishing business run by Richard Rosenblatt, updated its IPO filings Thursday, saying that it has granted $30.8M in additional, stock-based compensation to its executive officers, if the firm completes an IPO before March of next year. MicroMedia Filtration Becomes M2 Renewables
Irvine-based MicroMedia Filtration, the venture backed provider of wastewater treatment and renewable energy technology, announced Thursday that it has renamed itself M2 Renewables. The firm, which is backed by clean technology venture capital firm SAIL Venture Partners, said the move reflects a "wider commitment" of the firm to the sustainable solutions market. Autobytel Buys Cyber Ventures and Autotropolis
Irvine-based Autobytel, which runs an online information site for automotive information and a corresponding automotive leads business, said this morning that it has acquired substantially all of the assets of Cyber Ventures, Inc. and Autotropolis, Inc., based in Tampa, Florida. eFax Looks Towards Document Management
Los Angeles-based eFax, the online FAX service run by j2 Global Communications, said this week that it is starting to roll out new solutions aimed at common document management problems.
