Websense Loses CFO
San Diego-based Websense, the developer of web security software, said late Tuesday that CFO Arthur S. Locke II has resigned, and has been replaced by Michael A. Newman. According to the company, Locke resigned to return to Virginia with his family, and the resignation was not related to the company's past or projected financial performance, accounting policies, or regulatory filings. Mogreet Raises $2.0M More
Venice, California-based Mogreet, the mobile marketing firm headed by James Citron, has raised $2.0M in an ongoing funding round, according to a regulatory filing by the firm today. According to the filing, the new equity funding has a target of $3.0M. No details on the funding have yet been announced by the company. LightPointe Wireless Expands In Europe
San Diego-based LightPointe Wireless, a developer free-space optical networking equipment, said Tuesday that it has expanded in Europe, and opened up a new office in France. The firm said it has hired Patrick Cardon as Director of Sales for Southern Europe as part of the expansion. Cardon was previously at MRV Communications. LightPointe is owned by Berg & Berg Enterprises, which acquired the company in 2006. LightPointe had originally been venture backed, and was acquired after a Chaper 11 bank (More info...)

Make It Work In Win With Costco Warehouses
Santa Barbara-based Make It Work, the provider of in-home and on-site technical support and services headed by Eric Greenspan, said today that it has inked a deal to offer up its services for sale at Costco Wholesale Corporation locations in Southern California. According to the firm, it is in an initial pilot rollout within 20 Southern California Costco locations, in Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. MeFeedia Hits iPhone, Android
Burbank-based MeFeedia, the online video guide site headed by Frank Sinton, said today that it has launched both iPhone and Android apps. The firm said the new apps allow users to find favorite videos, linking to such sources as YouTube, Dailymotion, and Vimeo. The new apps run on the iPhone and iPod Touch, and the Android. All of the apps are free.

MSC Software Buys Simulation Software Firm
Santa ana-based MSC Software, the developer of simulation software, said today that it has acquired Free Field Technologies (FFT), a developer of acoustic modeling software. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. MSC Software said that the acquisition will help it provide acoustic and NVH solutions to its customers. Edmunds.com Bolsters Content With Technology Guide
Santa Monica-based Edmunds.com, the online car information site, said this morning that it has bolstered the content on its site, by launching a new online guide to shopping for in-car technology. The firm said the new "Car Technology 101" section features articles on electronic infotainment, including features such as Bluetooth, in-dash navigation, and music integration systems. Manhattan Beach-based Morphlabs, the developer of cloud computing products headed by Winston Damarillo, announced this morning that it has raised $5M in a Series C funding round. According to Morphlabs, the round was led by Japanese strategic partner BBT, as well as a private, Indonesia-based investor group. Daylight Solutions Gets $15M
San Diego-based Daylight Solutions, a developer of high-power, laser systems for the defense and homeland security market, said this morning that it has raised $15M in a Series C funding round. The round was led by Northrop Grumman Corporation, and also included several of its existing investors. The company did not say which of its existing investors participated. Qualcomm Names European Exec
San Diego-based Qualcomm has appointed a new European exec saying today that Dr. Anastassia Lauterbach is the firm's new Senior Vice President of Global Business Operations in Europe. Qualcomm said Dr. Lauterbach will oversee the company's business interests across the continent. Lauterbach was most recently at Deutsche Telekom, and has also served at T-Mobile, Daimler, McKinsey, and Munich Reinsurance Company.

Conexant Names New CFO
Newport Beach-based Conexant Systems said this morning that it has named a new Chief Financial Officer. The maker of semiconductors said that it has named Carl Mills to the position, overseeing the firm's finance and administration activities. Uptake Medical Hires European GM
Tustin-based Uptake Medical, the developer of a minimally invasive treatment for severe emphysema, announced today that it has named Lloyd Mencinger as its European General Manager. Mencinger most recently served at Tenent Healthcare, and also has served at Boston Scientific, Baxter, and American Hospital Supply. Uptake Medical said Mencinger spend more than 10 years living in the EU while at Boston Scientific.
