TrueCar Swizzles Billing Model, After Pressure From States
Santa Monica-based TrueCar, the online auto buying site led by Scott Painter, said Monday that it is addressing compliance issues and concerns with its service with a change to its billing model. The firm said it will offer up a new, flat fee billing model in the Commonwealth of Virginia, a move which comes after a public complaint by the state, which was made public most recently in December, "reminding" the company that the laws of that state prohibit compensating anyone in connection with the (More info...)

Rumors Swirl Around THQ
Rumors have been swirling around Agoura Hills-based THQ since this weekend, when a gaming industry analyst, Peter Skerritt, reported that the videogame maker was either looking for a buyer or shutting down its videogame development efforts, cancelling its 2014 lineup. The rumors were denied by the company, although the firm said it has "made decisions to ensure that the company is strategically addressing the most attractive markets." as part of an "ongoing review" of its business. Elon Musk To Deliver Caltech Commencement
California Institute of Technology in Pasadena said over the weekend that Elon Musk, the technology mogul who founded SpaceX and Tesla Motors, and co-founded PayPal, will deliver this year's commencement address in June. Caltech said Musk will deliver the commencement address for the school on June 15th at its campus in Pasadena. LiveOffice Acquired For $115M By Symantec
Torrance-based LiveOffice, the provider of online, cloud-based email archiving services led by Nick Mehta, has been acquired by Symantec, in a deal worth $115M. Symantec said the acquisition would extend its intelligence information governance offering. LiveOffice was venture backed by Summit Partners. The firm offered up online, cloud-based archiving and retrieval of emails for corporations.

Hulu Launches New Original Programming
Los Angeles-based Hulu said over the weekend that it has launched a new slate of original programming on the site. Hulu said it has launched a new, scripted series called "Battleground", a politics-themed series produced by JD Walsh, Hagai Shaham, and Marc Webb, as well as "Up to Speed" a docu-drama produced by Richard Linklater (Dazed and Confused, School of Rock).
