Two San Diego Sites Rank Tops In Rising Social Networking Interest
A report issued this week by Experian Marketing Services has identified two, San Diego niche social networking sites as being among the fastest growing sites between July of 2011 and July of 2012. Experian said that--in an analysis to find the next Instagram or Pinterest--it conducated an international study of web sites to find the fastest growing niche social networking. Avril Lavigne Taps Invested.in For Crowdfunding Effort
Singer/songwriter Avril Lavigne has tapped online software from Los Angeles-based startup Invested.in for a new crowdfunding campaign for her Avril Lavigne Foundation, according to Lavigne. According to Lavigne, she has launched the Rockstar Room, which will use crowdfunding to tap her fans to raise money to support children and youth with serious illnesses and disabilities. Callfire Ties With Democratic Campaign Provider
Callfire, the developer of telephony services and APIs, reported today that it has tied with a provider technology services for Democratic candidates. CallFire said it was designated the preferred provider of cloud broadcast voice and hosted IVR telephony services by NGP VAN, which the company says is used by "virtually every" Democratic candidate and progressive organization conducting a field campaign. WhatRunsWhere Buys Mobile Ad Spy For Mobile Ad Tracking
San Diego-based WhatRunsWhere, a startup which develops advertising tracking technology, said this morning that it has acquired Mobile Ad Spy, a UK-based mobile ad tracking startup. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. WhatRunsWhere said it would use the acquisition to launch a new offering in the mobile ad tracking market. WhatRunsWhere operates a service to help advertisers and their agencies to track their competitors online advertising campaigns; the firm's COO is Max Teitelbaum.

Kidworth Becomes Bizinate, Gets Funding, Expands To Older Users
Los Angeles-based Kidworth, the online service which makes it easy for kids to offer their services and start a business, said today that it has renamed itself Bizinate. Eucalyptus Deploys In India With Ingram Micro
Santa Barbara-based cloud computing software developer Eucalyptus Systems is deploying its software to India, the firm said this week, via a new partnership with distributor Ingram Micro. Eucalpytus, which develops cloud computing software to help companies deploy their applications to Amazon Web Services and other clouds, said that Ingram Micro will offer up its software to its value added resellers in India. Ingram Micro will also be an authorized education partner in that country.

ReachLocal Opens New Offices In Canada, Germany
Continuing its international expansion, Woodland Hills-based ReachLocal, which helps local businesses market themselves online through paid search marketing and other advertising, said it has opened up new offices in Canada and Germany. The firm said it has opened up new offices in Calgary, Ottawa and Edmonton, as well as new offices in Munich and Frankfurt. ReachLocal has been active in Canada since 2008, and in Germany since 2011.

MyLife Launches New Product
Los Angeles-based MyLife.com, the online website headed by Jeff Tinsley which helps users manage their online social accounts, has launched a new product, the firm announced this morning. MyLife said it has launched Profile Remover, a new product which lets users monitor, manage, and remove personal information from the web.
