Greenwings Biomedical Launches Incubator
A new, Los Angeles startup incubator, Greenwings Biomedical, announced its launch Friday, saying that it will be the first incubator of biomedical ventures in Los Angeles. Bixel Exchange Launches New Startup Center
Adding one more startup incubator/accelerator to the long list in Los Angeles, Bixel Exchange launched Thursday, to offer up mentoring and classes to local startups. The new center was created by the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. According to the Bixel Exchange, the new technology center will provide mentors and advisors, informatoin and educaiton, and connections to the local community. The center will focus on adtech, mobile, digital and social media, gaming and clean tech.

ZEFR Targets Brands With New Service, BrandID
Venice-based ZEFR has rolled out a new product today, BrandID, which it says will help brands identify their fans on YouTube, provide visibility into how those fans are responding and engaging, and provide data on a brand's competitors. The startup, which is led by Zach James, also said it has signed both P&G's COVERGIRL and Pantene as customers of its new, software-as-a-service product. ClearLight Partners Sells Portfolio Firm
Newport Beach-based private equity firm ClearLight Partners said earlier this week that it has agreed to sell The Outsource Group, one of its portfolio companies, to Parallon Business Solutions, a subsidiary of HCA Holdings. Financial terms of the deal wre not disclosed. The OutSource Group was based in St. Louis, Missouri, and provides revenue cycle management services to hospitals and physicials. Conatus Pharmaceuticals Files For IPO
San Diego-based Conatus Pharmaceuticals, which is developing treatments for liver disease, has filed for an IPO, saying this morning that it is looking to raised $69.0M on the public markets. The firm said plans to trade on the NASDAQ Global Market as CNAT. The IPO is being underwritten by Stifel, Piper Jaffray, JMP Securities, and SunTrust Robinson Humphrey. SYSPRO Wins Manufacturer
Costa Mesa-based SYSPRO, which develops enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, reported a win yesterday with a manufacturer of precision machined plastic components. SYSPRO said that Precision Fluorocarbon, based in Tomball, Texas, has selected the firm's software to manage its ERP processes. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed, however, SYSPRO said it won the account over Epicor, Sage, Global Shop and Microsoft.

Broadcom Debuts New Communications Processors
Irvine-based Broadcom debuted a new set of communications processors this week, aimed at use in hardware acceleration, virtualization, and deep packet inspection. BRoadcom said its new, multi-core communications processors, the XLP900 Series, is aimed at equipment manufacturers supporting high speed 4G LTE and LTE-Advanced services. Teledyne Promotes Execs
Thousand Oaks-based Teledyne Technologies, the diversified electronics, digital imaging, aerospace and defense electronics, and engineering systems provider, said this week that it has made a number of executive promotions.
