Vionic Gets $900K For Social Offers
San Diego-based Vionic, a developer of technology for helping companies create social media deals and promotions, said Wednesday that it has raised $900,000 in a funding round. The funding came from angel investors. According to the startup, which is led by Kosta Gara, its customers include The UPS Store, Office Max Mexico and Pure Barre. DogVacay Hit By Gmail Change
Thousands and thousands of companies who send emails to their users, customers, and potential customers have been impacted by a recent change in Google's email service, Gmail, which automatically steers certain emails until a "Promotional" email tab--and Santa Monica-based DogVacay, the online pet marketplace, appears to be one of them. Hulu Launches Hulu Plus On Chromecast
Hulu's development teams in Santa Monica and Beijing have been busy, and have just launched a new app which makes Hulu Plus available with Chromecast, Google's online video streaming device. According to Hulu, the new Hulu Plus app on a phone or tablet works with Google's Chromecast device to allow users to more easily control Hulu Plus on a TV. Hulu said it worked closely with Google on delivering the Chromecast support for its apps.

AeroVironment Gets $20M Order From Army
Monrovia-based unmanned aerial vehicle maker AeroVironment announced this morning that it has received a $20M order from the U.S. Army, for an upgrade for the army's RQ-11B Raven Unmanned Aircraft Systems. Aerovironment said the win covers a new multi-axis pan, tilt and zoom sensor payload for the unmanned aircraft. The company said that the U.S. Department of Defense now has more than 5,000 Raven aircraft deployed.

VIRURL Becomes Revenue.com
Santa Monica-based VIRURL said this morning that it has renamed itself Revenue.com, after acquiring the domain name. The company--which provides native advertising technology--said the new name "fully conveys" its company's mission. Revenue.com's services are used by advertisers and publishers, to integrate sponsored articles and videos into content. Telogis Raises $93 Million
In what looks to be one of the largest, venture capital deals in Orange County so far this year, Aliso Viejo-based Telogis said Tuesday that it has raised $93M in a funding round, for the company's location-based intelligence technology. The funding was led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, and also included un-named growth equity and crossover institutional funds. El Segundo-based online fashion site JustFab and actress Kate Hudson said Tuesday that they have launched a new, lifestyle athletic wear apparel and accessories brand, Fabletics. BioNano Genomics Finds $10M For Human Genome Analysis
San Diego-based BioNano Genomics announced this morning that it has raised $10M in a funding round, to commercialize its system for human genome analysis. The funding came from Batelle Ventures, Domain Associates, and Gund Investment Corporation. BioNano Genomics says it is developing a system which uses imaging of molecules to directly observe native genomic structure. The startup is led by Erik Holmlin, Ph.D.

Beachfront Powers Family Feud App For Fremantle
Burbank-based video technology provider Beachfront Media announced this morning that it is powering a new, mobile Family Feud mobile app for FremantleMedia. The new mobile app, which runs on iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Android, lets fans of Family Feud search and view content from past Family Feud episodes. Innovative Micro Technology Names Sales VP
Santa Barbara-based Innovative Micro Technology has added a new Vice President of Worldwide Sales, according to the company. IMT, which develops micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS), said it has added Paul Pickering in the position, and to help expand its sales team, create a stronger presence in Asia Europe. Pickering was most recently at Xilinx, and also had served at Xpedion Design Systems, Zeevo, Fairchild, Toshiba, LSI Logic, PMC-Sierra, and other companies.
