OneRoof Energy Lands $16.7M More In Financing
San Diego-based solar power financing provider OneRoof Energy said Friday that it has scored an additional, $16.7M in financing for the company, which came from Black Coral Capital LLC and Hanwha Group. Both are existing investors in the company. The company said that $6.5M of the financing will be in the form of a working capital line of credit. ONeRoof Energy provides solar lease financing, PPAs, solar design and installation and project management.

ShipHawk Scores $5M For Shipping Marketplace
Santa Barbara-based ShipHawk, the online developer of technology for helping connect users with shipping companies, has raised $5M in a funding round, the company said this morning. The startup, led by Jeremy Bodenhamer, said the funding came from DN Capital, and also included Karlin Ventures, Rothenberg Ventures, and Wavemaker Partners (formerly Siemer Ventures). MaxLinear Buys Physpeed
Carlsbad-based radio frequency semiconductor developer MaxLinear said this morning that it is acquiring Camarillo-based Physpeed, a developer of high speed, physical layer interconnect products. MaxLinear said it expects to pay approximately $11.0M in cash, plus up to $750,000 in earn out for Physpeed. Physpeed's products including optical physical medium devices (PMDs) and clock data recovery (CDR) devices for 10Gbps to 1000Gbps speeds.

Alteryx Raises $60M
Irvine-based Alteryx, a developer of data analytics software, said this morning that it has raised $60M in a new investment round. THe funding said the round was led by Insight Venture Partners, and also included SAP Ventures and Toba Capital. Alteryx is led by Dean Stoecker, and provides its software to the enterprise and mid market. Alteryx said it will use the funding to expand its go to market efforts.

Bluebeam Software Acquired For $100M
Pasadena-based software developer Bluebeam Software has been acquired by German software company Nemetschek AG, the two said late Friday. According to the two, Nemetschek will pay $100M for BlueBeam, which is a developer of PDF software used for architecture, engineering, and construction. Bluebeam Software was led by Richard Lee. Nemetschek said the deal will help it reinforce its market presence in North America, and will expand Bluebeam's access to European and Asian markets. The companies sa (More info...)

Yahoo Planning Big Investment In Snapchat, Says Report
Yahoo is planning a big investment in Venice-based Snapchat, in a deal that values Snapchat at $10 billion, according to a report over the weekend. The WSJ reports that Yahoo is investing around $20M in Snapchat at the lofty valuation, using money it cashed out of the IPO of Alibaba. Neither company has confirmed any details of the deal.

Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong Launches New Molecular Medicine Effort
Billionaire Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong said late last week that he has launched a new, nonprofit effort focused on genomic research aimed at pediatric diseases. According to Soon-Shiong, he will soon launch the Chan Soon-Shiong Institute of Molecular Medicine (CSSIOMM), a new effort which will use personalized genomic and proteomic medicine to help enhance care for all patients, with an initial focus on pediatrics.
