SpaceX To Launch Cargo For NASA On Monday
The next launch for Hawthorne-based SpaceX is planned for Monday, in what NASA says will be the ninth Commercial Resupply Services mission for the agency to the International Space Station. According to NASA, SpaceX will be launchign its Dragon spacecraft with materials for the orbiting laboratory and crew, including a giant, metallic ring. RealD Acquires Tessive
Beverly Hills-based 3D movie projection technology developer RealD has acquired motion image processing technology developer Tessive, the company said Wednesday. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. According to RealD, it acquired the technology and assets of Tessive in order to launch a new product, RealD TrueMotion, which helps correct imperfections in motion capture. As part of the buy, Tessive founder Tony Davis has become a Senior Scientist at RealD.

Amgen, Daiichi Sankyo In Japanese Commercialization Deal
Thousand Oaks-based Amgen and Daiichi Sankyo Company said late Wednesday evening, that the two have reached an agreement to commercialize biosimilars in Japan. The two said the deal covers several biosimilars in late-stage development, including biosimilars of adalimumab, bevacizumab and trastuzumab. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Plex Pharmaceuticals Gets $670K For Parkinson's Research
San Diego-based Plex Pharmaceuticals, a biotechnology company aiming at treating ALS, Parkinson's disease and cataracts, says it has raised $670,865, via the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (MJFF). The funding--which came in the form of a grant--will go towards using its technology to discover and develop brain-permeable drug candidates for treating Parkinson's disease. STARZ Debuts on Roku
Beverly Hills-based STARZ is broadening its distribution channels, saying on Wednesday that it has added support for Roku for its existing subscribers. According to STARZ, the support allows its subscribers to watch both its original series, as well as movies and first run films on Roku's media players and Roku TV.
