San Diego Jeep Thefts Linked To High Tech Hacking Ring
The theft of over 150, Jeep Wranglers in San Diego County over the last few years has been linked to hacking of the electronic keys of those vehicles in the middle of the night, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. Elon Musk Will Leave Trump Tech Council If US Drops Paris Agreement
Elon Musk, the technology billionaire behind SpaceX and Tesla Motors, says that if the U.S. withdraws from the Paris Agreement, he will "have no choice" but to leave Trump's Tech Council. In a tweet, Musk said he has "done all I can to advise directly to POTUS" on climate change, and "don't know which way Paris will go". Mission Viejo-based Comergence Compliance, a developer of compliance software for the mortgage lending industry, has been acquired by Optimal Blue, the operator of a digital marketplace for the mortgage industry. San Diego- and New York-based Applied Data Finance said this morning, that it has increased an existing credit facility for the company from $50M to $75M. The credit facility comes from Victory Park Capital (VPC). Applied Data Finance is a technology-enabled lender and asset manager, which operates its own online lending site called Personify Financial.

Los Angeles-based Gamevice, a developer of hardware devices which attach to your existing smartphone which turns them into a gaming console, has raised $12.5M in a Series A funding round, the company said Wednesday morning. The funding was co-led by TransLink Capital and California Technology Ventures (CTV), and also included BAM Ventures, TYLT Ventures, and Kevin Chou, the former CEO of Kabam. Beverly Hills- and London-based FitnessGenes, a startup offering up DNA testing and interpretation focused on personalized fitness and nutrition, announced this morning that it has raised $5M in a Series A funding round. The funding came from SGHF. According to FitnessGenes, it uses DNA analysis to help create personalized fitness and nutrition plans for its customers. SpaceX Gears Up For CRS-11 Launch Tomorrow
Hawthorne-based SpaceX is kicking off a very busy launch month in June with a launch tomorrow, June 1st, with another mission to the International Space Station, SpaceX said on Wednesday.
