CalAmp Invests In ThinxNet
Irvine-based CalAmp has made an minority investment in German connected car company ThinxNext GmbH, the two said this week. Financial details of the investment were not announced. The two said that CalAmp has been providing telematics devices for ThinxNet's solutions since 2015. According to CalAmp, ThinxNet's automotive Internet-of-Things applications enables smartphone-based fuel payments in Germany.

HAAWK Finds $2.5M For Rights Management Startup
Los Angeles-based HAAWK, a new startup focused on rights management, copyright enforcement, and content monetization, has raised $2.5M in a seed financing round, according to the company. The funding was led by Rincon Venture Partners, Wavemaker Partners, Frontier Venture Capital, and Apex Ventures. The startup, led by serial entrepreneur Ryan Born, said it also acquired a range of assets from Dart Music. Financial details of the Dart Music acquisition was not announced. Trackstreet Names VP Sales
Santa Barbara-based TrackStreet, a provider of internet brand protection and analytics software, said today that it has named Ryan Erickson as Vice President of Sales. Erickson was most recently Vice President of Sales for Teva North America, a division of Deckers Brands, and also has served at Timberland, Rockport and Reebok. TrackStreet develops technology for monitoring brand reputation, Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) agreements, customer reviews, and similar information.

Utilligent Acquires Transformory
Los Angeles-based management consulting firm Utilligent has acquired an Australian and New Zealand company, Tranformory Pty Ltd., the company said late Tuesday. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. According to Utilligent, the acquisition will help it with its global footprint. The two said Transformory Pty Ltd. provides services to the telecommunications, electric, gas, water, roads, airports and cities.

Hyundai Capital Links Into AutoGravity For Auto Financing
Irvine-based AutoGravity, and Hyundai Capital America, the car financing company which does business as Hyundai Motor Finance, Kia Motors Finance, and Genesis Finance, have joined to offer up car financing in California, Hyundai said today.
