    Novatel Wireless, Lucent in European Deals


    San Diego-based Novatel Wireless and Lucent Technologies announced that the two companies are supplying KPN in the Netherlands and E-Plus in Germany with 3G data cards jointly developed by the two companies. Lucent and Novatel have jointly developed the Merlin U530 Univeral Mobilt Telecommunications System PC Card Modems, which will be supplied to the European companies for the rollout of high-speed data services. The 3G data cards provide support for high quality streaming video and audio, and rates up to 384 Kilobits per second.
