Obsidian Security Adds $90M For SaaS Security Efforts

Newport Beach-based Obsidian Security, a developer of software-as-a-service security tools, has raised $90M in its Series C funding round. The funding was led by Menlo Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners and IVP, with participation from existing investors Greylock, Wing and GV. As part of the funding, Obsidian said it has added Venky Ganesan to its board of directors. The company says it has now raised $119.5M in total financing. Obsidian's tools are used to monitor web applications like Github, Salesforce, Workday, Microsoft 365, and Zoom to reduce the chance of sensitive data being exposed, accounts being compromised, and insider threats.
