Ophthonix Closes Series C Funding Round
San Diego-based medical developer Ophthonix has raised $17M in a Series C funding round for the firm. Funding was led by InterWest Partners, and included participation by Enterprise Partners Venture Capital, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Gund Investment Corporation, Trex Enterprises, and Wasatch Advisors. Ophthonix is developing high definition vision correction lenses. The company said it will use the funding to further product commercialization and support increased manufacfturing capacity. The company is currently marketing its lenses in Southern California with plans to expand across the country.
