Ortiva Wireless Finds $8.0M More

La Jolla-based Ortiva Wireless, a developer of wireless software used for handling video streaming over mobile networks, has raised $8.0M out of a $10.0M funding round, according to a recent regulatory filing by the firm. The funding included prior investors Artiman Ventures, Mission Ventures, and Comcast Interactive Capital. No details on the funding have yet been released. Based on the filing, the round came in the form of convertible preferred stock and warrants. Ortiva's software is used to dynamically adjust the video data rate to mobile phone subscribers, based on connection speed and quality. The firm is headed by Marc Zionts. More information »
