Outer Finds $4.3M For Direct To Consumer Outdoor Furniture

Santa Monica-based Outer, which makes direct-to-consume outdoor furniture, said last week that it has raised $4.3M in a funding round. The funding was led by Mucker Capital, and also included 40 other investors, including Unlock Venture Partners, UpHonest Capital, Reimagined Ventures, Social Starts, Wavemaker, Cybernaut Ventures, K2VC, Plum Ventures, plus angels George Ruan (Honey), Eddy Lu (GOAT), Nick Green (Thrive Market), Ariel Kaye (Parachute), Dan Dinh (TSM), Mark Geller (Happy Returns), Raaja Nemani and Chris Toy (MarketerHire), and Patrick Schwarzenegger. According to the company, the new funding will go twoards development and introduction of new products. The company is best known for its outdoor sofas. Outer was co-founded by Terry Lin and Jiake Liu, and launched on SharkTank in 2019. The company said its sofa products are weather tolerant and feature all-weather wicker, UV-resistant materials and an integrated cushion cover it calls "OuterShell".
