Overwatch League Boots Up First Season

The Overwatch League, the e-sports league based on Irvine-based Blizzard Entertainment's popular Overwatch videogame title, has officially begun its inaugural season, with 12 franchises spread across the U.S., Asia, and Europe. According to the sports league, it will begin the season by broadcasting on Twitch, OverwatchLeague.com, MLG.com, MLG's app, and a new dedicated Overwatch League companion app. The first 12 teams in the league include two teams in Los Angeles, plus teams in Boston, Dallas, Florida, Houston, London, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seoul, and Shanghai. The first games will be played later today.
