Pledgeling Names CEO
Los Angeles-based Pledgeling, which operates an online service to help users make micro- and impulse donations to charities, has named local startup veteran James Citron as CEO. Pledgeling said that Citron replaces CEO and Founder Matt Minnis, who becomes Chairman of the Board. Citron was previously CEO of mobile messaging and marketing firm Outspoken, and prior to that, was CEO and founder of Mogreet, which was acquired in 2013. Pledgeling has raised $4.1M in funding from Double M Partners, along with TV's Vanna White and Chris Harrison. The company allows users to make donations as small as $5 to charities from either their smartphone or the web.
