Qualcomm Makes Strategic Investment In RetailNext

San Diego-based Qualcomm has put its weight behind a developer of software used for Big Data analysis of physical retailers, in a strategic funding. RetailNext, which develops software used by retailers to apply Big Data to the information being generated at physical stores, said Qualcomm led a strategic investment in the company, via both Qualcomm Incorporate and Qualcomm Ventures. Tyco and American Express also made strategic investments in RetailNext. RetailNext's venture backers, including Nokia Growth Partners. Activant Capital Group, August Capital, StarVest Partners and Commerce Ventures, also participated in the funding. Qualcomm is providing wireless and location technologies to RetailNext as part of its products. More information »
