Lake Forest-based Revision Optics, which is developing implantable micro-lens technology for treating presbyopia, said today that it has named a new board member. The firm said it has added Stephen Slade, M.D., FACS, to its board. Slade is at the Slade & Baker Vision Center, and is Chief Editor of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Today. The firm said that Slade is a pioneer in the LASIK vision surgery area, having performed th efirst LASIK procedure in the U.S. ReVision is venture backed by Domain Associates, ProQuest Investments, Canaan Partners, and InterWest Partners.
