Self Driving, Autonoous Las Vegas Shuttle Crashes On First Day On The Job

An experiment involving the first-ever, fully self-driving shuttle bus in the nation, launched in Las Vegas yesterday, had a very bad first day on the job on Wednesday. The NAVYA Arma shuttle bus, run by French company Keolis, apparently smashed into a semi truck pulling out of alley shortly after it started making its rounds about Vegas. According to local media reports, the accident was ultimately blamed on the human driving the semi truck. The shuttle bus is being sponsored by the AAA Northern California, Nevada, & Utah, which said yesterday before the crash that the self driving pilot project would be used to "study consumer responses to advance technology" which says could dramatically reduce traffic fatalities, and specifically, to understand why "a large percentage of consumers remain wary of driverless technology."
