Skyworks Names New Board Member

Irvine-based Skyworks Solutions, the developer of analog semiconductors, said this morning that it has named Alan S. Batey to its board of directors. Batey was previously Executive Vice President and President of North America for General Motors, and also was Global Brand Chief for Chevrolet, which is a division of GM. Skyworks said that Batey has more than 39 years of experience at GM. Skyworks said that Batey's automotive experience will help the company, particular as wireless connectivity becomes "increasingly vital" for today's connected cars and emerging autonomous vehicles.
