    SMC Ships Workgroup Switch

Irvine-based SMC Networks has released the latest in its line of switches, this time with a new solution targeted at workgroups. The company's new TigerSwitch 10/100 Standalone 24-port 10/100 adds two Gigabit ports to a Fast Ethernet chassis, allowing companies to connect in Fast Ethernet workgroups with a high speed backbone. The new device is the latest in its line of TigerSwitch switches, and follows the release of a larger 48-port switch earlier this month. The company's new low cost switch also includes security features such as RADIUS and TACACS+ along with traffic shaping services.
