SpaceX Successfully Launches Mission, Nails First Stage Landing

In a triumphant return to space for Hawthorne-based SpaceX, the commercial rocket firm successfully launched its first mission to space on Monday evening since a catastrophic failure in June. The rocket, which was launched at 5:29PM PST, successfully delivered 11 satellites to space for ORBCOMM. Even more impressively, the company successfully landed the first stage of its rocket in Florida, the first successful landing for the company of that stage--a key part of reusability efforts by the company, which is being aimed at reducing the cost of future launches.
