Calabasas-based Strix Sytsems, which develops wireless mesh networking systems, has deployed another system, this time in North Dakota. The firm said that its outdoor WiFi systems have been deployed by The Falkirk Mining Company, a lignite coal producer, as part of a surface coal mine in North Dakota. Size of the deal were not disclosed, however Strix said that the installation of its mesh network currently covers 25 square miles. The wireless network is being used to provide logistics data communications to coal trucks and bulldozing equipment.
