TechnoCom, Card Access In Strategic Alliance
TechnoCom Corp., a provider of mobile-infrastructure technology and services, and Card Access Inc., a developer of wireless communications devices, have formed a partnership, the firms revealed earlier this week. Under the terms of their agreement, Card Access will design and manufacture 802.11-compliant radio devices that support TechnoCom software written to the IEEE 1609 and 5.9 GHz DSRC/WAVE specifications. In turn, TechnoCom will develop WAVE/DSRC and Vehicle Integration Infrastructure software that interfaces with automobiles and roadside equipment. The two companies will also help promote each other's products and services. Founded in 1995, TechnoCom is based in the Encino, and is venture backed by Timeline Ventures, Titan Investment Partners, Third Point Management and iSherpa Capital. Card Access is a privately held company headquartered in Salt Lake City.
