The Annenberg Foundation Seeks To Spur Philanthropy From LA's Tech Community
The Annenberg Foundation is announcing a new effort this morning, to spur more philanthropic moves by LA's growing technology sector, called AnnenbergTech. According to the charitable foundation, the leaders of LA's technology community today are "the philanthropists of tomorrow", and it is hoping its new effort will serve as a hub for that next generation. The Foundation said it already has been organizing roundtables and dinners with executives from tech companies like Snap, Riot Games, Mitu, Omaze, Headspace, as well as local venture capital firms, to help engage them with the nonprofit company and help educate them on issues facing Los Angeles. Annenberg said it hopes its new effort will help "activate the Los Angeles tech community" to help "life up and inspire all Angelenos." The Annenberg Foundation has been a major philanthropic supporter of LA institutions, and has over $1.5 billion in assets.
