Tinder Bolsters Executive Ranks

Los Angeles-based mobile dating app developer Tinder announced a major addition of executives to the company, saying it has named Ferrell McDonald as Chief Marketing Officer, Maria Zhang as VP of Engineering, Derek Callow as VP International, and James Kim as VP of Finance. McDonald was formerly SVP/Head of Original Marketing at Starz Entertainment; Zhang was VP of Engineering at Yahoo!; Callow was Director & Global Head of Partner Marketing at YouTube; and Kim was VP of Finance at TigerText. Tinder said that CTO Ryan Ogle will become responsible for its product organization, Jonathan Badeen becomes Chief Strategy Officer at the company, and current CMO Phil Schwarz will shift to leading marketing initiatives. Sean Rad, Tinder's CEO, said that the moves were made to tap into a set of talented people with a broader set of experiences, as the company has moved from being a startup to a successful business at scale.
