Los Angeles-based TopSpin Media, the provider of tools for helping musicians market themselves online, has scored a win with the Sundance Institute, the nonprofit which runs the Sundance Film Festival. According to the Sundance Institute, it is tapping Topspin Media for its direct-to-fan marketing tools, as part of an expansion of its Artist Services program. The Institute said the program will make it easier for filmmakers to make their films online, via iTunes, Amazon, Hulu, Netflix, SundanceNOW, and YouTube. The Institute explained that Topspin Media will provide artists with direct marketing tools and fulfillment services as part of the new service. Financial details of the win were not announced. Topspin is headed by Ian Rogers and was founded by Shamal Ranasinghe and Peter Gotcher.
