Los Angeles-based Uber has launched a new set of tools that allow people to create online photo galleries, slideshows, and web sites. The startup, which is the latest effort of former Friendster CEO Scott Sassa, also said that it is a launch partner for Facebook Connect, Facebook's effort to allow other web sites to authenticate using the Facebook system. Uber develops software used to upload, organize, and share content through a free web site; the firm focuses on photo galleries, slide shows, videos, and blogs. Uber's co-founder, Glenn Kaino, is a visual artist and Internet web designer.
