Pasadena-based UberMedia, the Twitter client company headed by Idealab's Bill Gross, announced this morning that it has launched yet another Twitter application, called UberCurrent. The firm said the new client, available for iPhone, lets people follow "influential" Twitter users, even if they don't have their own Tiwtter account. The firm said the new app caters to users in a "entirely different way," providing pre-loaded lists of notable "influencers" in sports, politics, entertainment, and other categories, and does not require a user to have a Twitter account to use the app. The app had previously been available in beta.
