UCSD, CENIC Wire 10G Network
The Corporation for Education Network Initiatives in California (CENIC) and the University of California, San Diego, announced that the two organizations have connected the first 10 Gigabit Ethernet broadband network into CENIC's high performance backbone network, CalREN. The connection gives UCSD students and staff the highest performance, production 10G campus connection in the U.S. CalREN provides connectivity for all of California's education and research institutions, including everything from universities to K-12 schools. The network spans all of California's 58 counties.
