Viasat, Inmarsat Get Nod From Australia

Carlsbad-based satellite communications firm Viasat and fellow satellite communications company Inmarsat said this morning that they have received approval for their proposed merger from the Australian Government's Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB). The companies said it already has received approvals from the UK and the US on their merger efforts, although the companies are still working through reviews. The deal is worth $7.3 billion.
