Carlsbad-based ViaSat, the provider of satellite communications services, said today that it has scored a win with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. ViaSat said the King Abdul-aziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) has selected ViaSat's high capacity, Ka-band satellite system for a national satellite data network. The network will provide broadband Internet services to Saudi Arabia's national laboratories. ViaSat said the deal is worth approximately $70M, covering gateways, network operations facilities, and end user terminals.
