San Diego-based Websense said Thursday afternoon that SurfControl PLC shareholders have approved the firm's proposed acquisition. SurfControl is a provider of software for Web and email security; the deal to acquire SurfControl was announced in April. Websense said that it expects the acquisition to become effective, following a court hearing to sanction the acquisition, on October 3rd. Websense is a developer of web filtering software.
