X1 Ships Enterprise Desktop Search
Pasadena-based X1 Technologies announced this morning that its new desktop search solution for enterprises is now available. The company's X1 Enterprise Edition builds on the company's existing desktop search tool for Windows. The new software provides access to both user and corporate files, with controls and security for IT management. According to X1, the new Enterprise Edition adds network connectors to be able to search files and data in server side email systems such as Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, Qualcomm Eudora, Netscape Mail, and Lotus Notes/Domino. The software is priced starting at $7500 per year. X1 is the desktop search provider powering Yahoo's desktop search tool and is backed by Idealab and US Venture Partners.
