Xirrus Adds Power Over Gigabit Ethernet

Westlake Village-based Xirrus has rolled out a new, power-over-Gigabit Ethernet product, which adds the ability to remotely power its line of Wi-Fi equipment. Xirrus said today its new remote power solution provides power over up to 100 meters of Category 5e or Category 6 Ethernet cabling. Remote power solutions enable equipment to tap power directly from Ethernet cabling, removing the need for local power connections and simplifying power and wiring for installations. Xirrus said the new Xirrus High Power over Gigabit Ethernet solution will be available in June.
