Yahoo's Santa Monica-based entertainment division has rolled out another service that provides personalized movie recommendations. The new Yahoo! Movies feature gives movie fans recommendations based on individual preferences, and comes as the web portal giant has been aggressively bolstering its entertainment lineup. The new service is powered by ChoiceStream, a provider of intelligent consumer preference software. The new Yahoo Movies service uses the personalized recommendation engine to compare reviews and recommendations from fans with similar tastes in movies. The service links into local showtimes and online ticketing, as well as upcoming TV movie lineups and DVD/movie shopping.
