8e6 Merges With UK Firm
Orange, California-based 8e6 Technologies, a supplier of web filtering appliances for the SMB and education market, said Wednesday that it has merged with UK-based Marshal. According to the firms, they are merging to form a new company called Marshal8e6. Financial details of the merger were not disclosed. Marshal and 8e6 Technologies said the merger will create a combined company with more than 250 employees, and more than $50M in combined billings for the past 12 months. The companies are backed by Kelso Place Asset Management, Darwin Group, CX Ventures, Vora Ventures and Updata Partners; the firms said that Updata Advisors advised the firms on the transaction. The new combined firm will offer corporate and Internet email, IM, and other web filtering capability.
