    Acacia Files Additional Cable Lawsuits


    Newport Beach-based Acacia Research announced yesterday that it has filed additional patent infringement suits against cable companies in Arizona, Minnesota, and Ohio. Acacia has been aggressively pursuing patent infringement suits against companies who use streaming media in their operations, after it acquired the rights to a streaming media patent. The company said that it has signed 175 licensing agreements with companies in online entertaiinment, cable TV, hotel on demand, e-learning, and more. The company has also been targeting colleges and universities, and has multiple patent infringement lawsuits active.
