Amgen Foundation Commits $4M More For Biotech Labs In Schools
Thousand Oaks-based Amgen, via its nonprofit arm, The Amgen Foundation, said Wednesday that it will spend more than $4M to help bring hands on biotechnology labs to schools. Amgen said it the funds will supports its existing program, the Amgen Biotech Experience, which brings labs to schools across the United States, Puerto Rico, United Kingdom and Ireland. Amgen said 72,000 students participated in its labs this past year. The programs are run primarily in areas with Amgen employees and presence. Amgen said that it has invested a total of more than $13 million since it launched the Amgen Biotech Experience in 1990.
