    AOL Launches Extreme Sports Site

AOL has launched a beta of a new, extreme sports content site based out of Los Angeles, the company said yesterday. Lat34.com focuses on action sports, including skating, BMX, FMX, and is soon expanding to surfing and snowboarding. The web site currently includes news stories, video, photos, and profiles of athletes. The new web site will also allow users to upload their own action sports video, photos, and blogs. The new effort is a joing effort between AOL and Fusion Entertainment. AOL has signed on Jeep as the charter advertiser for the site. The name of the site (Lat34) is a reference to the GPS coordinates for Los Angeles.
