AudioMicro Raises Series A Funding
Los Angeles-based AudioMicro, an online marketplace for user-generated commercial music, is announcing tomorrow that it has raised a Series A funding round. The funding was actually disclosed earlier this month via a regulatory filing, as well as through this weekend's PricewaterhouseCoopers/NVCA venture capital survey. The financing round was led by DFJ Frontier, and Scott Lenet of DFJ will join the firm's board of directors. AudioMicro is not announcing the amount of the Series A funding, however the PricewaterhouseCoopers/NVCA survey pegs the round at $500,000. AudioMicro is looking to create a stock audio site, similar to the crop of stock photography sits like iStockPhoto, Fotolia, Shutterstock, and others.
