Autio, Founded By Kevin Costner, Gets $5.9M

Santa Barbara-based Autio, a new, location-based audio storytelling startup founded by Kevin Costner, said today that it has raised $5.9M in a funding round. The funding was led by iHeartMedia. The company's app uses a user's GPS location to tell stories about landmarks, cities, and towns nearby a user. The company's founders are Woody Sears, Bill Werlin, and Kevin Costner; the company originally was known as HearHere, and launched in August of 2020.
