    Bitfone Acquires Mobile Diagnostix


    Laguna Niguel-based Bitfone (www.bitfone.com) said yesterday that it has acquired Mobile Diagnostix, a Toronto-based company whose products detect device configuration errors with cell phones and provides customer service help. Mobile Diagnostix SmartCare software includes a automated handset analysis system and a rules engine for advising customer service representatives of corrective actions to fix cell phone issues. Ian Collins, former CEO of Mobile Diagnostix will become Bitfone's SVP and GM of customer care solutions, and Jeff Brunet, CTO of Mobile, will become Bitfone's Chief Technology Officer. Terms were not disclosed.
