    Cell Provider Launches Speech Apps Based On V-Enable


    Phonetic Systems, a provider of speech recognition solutions, and San Diego-based V-Enable (www.v-enable.com), announced that US Cellcular has launched two new speech-driven applications for their customers. US Cellular's SAY IT. BIZFINDER and SAY IT. TONEFINDER applications allow users to use voice commands to download information, directions, and ring tones from their cell phones. The multimodal directory assistance and ring tone applications are based on V-Enable's veANYWAY multimodal solutions, which are designed to combine data services access with speech commands. V-Enable is backed by the Tech Coast Angels, Acument Venture Partners, Poole Investment Ventures, Siemens, and Sorrento Ventures.
